Mimas - A Compilation of Raw Images from Cassini

This video is a compilation of over 400 raw images of Saturn's moon Mimas, captured by the Cassini space probe between 01/16/2005 and 06/05/2012. You can see these and thousands of other images, courtesy of NASA JPL, at http://ift.tt/13M9S2Z Mimas was discovered by William Herschel in 1789. It is also referred to as the "Death Star" moon, due to its most distinctive feature; a giant impact crater aptly named Herschel. Herschel's diameter is 81 miles (130 kilometers) across, almost a third of the moon's own diameter. The music in this video is Beethoven, Symphony 7, Allegretto, 2nd movement.
