Tutorial: Change rest pose to T-pose in Blender (manual posing)
(Author: Jonas Hauquier) This is a very quick solution to setting your mesh to T pose in Blender (This is the approach with manual posing). I assume you have imported a rigged human model into Blender (for example using the MHX format). 1) In pose mode, pose the armature so that the human is in T stance 2) Exit pose mode, and go to Object mode. 3) Select the human MESH (not the armature) 4) Remove any shapekeys. Blender does not allow modifying your mesh with them, so they will have to go. In the shapekeys panel press the "-" icon until the list is empty. 5) in the Modifiers panel (which is usually to the right of your screen), click Apply on the ARMATURE modifier. 6) Add a new Armature modifier to the stack (click Add modifier) and attach it to the correct armature again (select your armature from the Object dropdown) 7) Select the armature again, go to Pose mode again. 8) Press SPACE and search for "apply pose as rest pose", hit enter Now your armature should be in T pose, and your basemesh should fit the T stance. We have not applied any special geometry deformations, so posing the armature with arms down should give realistic joint geometry around the shoulders.

Krita: perspective transformation masks with dynamical updates
Functionality of clone layers is now extended: you can transform the clone with a transformation masks. It means it is possible to paint on the walls in perspective without any thinking about the perspective itself! 1) Create the source layer 2) Add a clone of it 3) Add a transformation mask to a clone 4) Use transform tool to edit the mask After these steps you can just paint on the source layer and all the clones will be kept in sync on the fly! This is only an introduction. Sorry for the wobbly language in this video tutorial, but it's all easy to follow with visuals and a summary showing you the wonders of Krita's new Selection Layer. The designs you can create and the brushes you can calibrate have been the focus of the new Kick-starter Release. I have focused to make a video covering the basic use of the Selection Layer Tool. Flowblade vs. Kdenlive - Good Linux Video Editors
Comparing Kdenlive and Flowblade, two high-grade video editors for Linux. Spoiler: Flowblade is more stable but has way less features. Kdenlive is fragile but both have great crash recovery. I compare basic editing features by importing video, audio and image files, placing and moving them along the timeline, creating fadein/fadeout effects for both image and sound. Transitions between video clips are also part of the test. I turn off audio in the video files and use imported cc0 Creative Commons music from OpenGameArt. Various tools and methods are tried, performance is tested and especially UI and input is compared so hopefully you can conclude, which MLT-powered video editor is the right one for you and your project. Rendering times weirdly are much longer in Kdenlive. Perhaps I did something wrong. Please Like and Subscribe!
